Portugal 2023 - Day 9 - Lisbon

Pretty short day for me, as I wound up having zoom meetings 6-midnight, and had to spend some time in the morning prepping for them.

Olga and Tanya got out of the house around 11, I finished my work prep around 11:20, went out to catch up with them, actually got ahead of them and waited near the Elevador de St. Justa while eating some (kinda meh) ice cream.  We went up to Chiado, where we first stopped by the perfume store we discovered last year (their prices most certainly went up, and they were kinda expensive to start with), and then did our tourism of the day by revisting the Museum of Archeology in the Convento do Carmo.

Best  I could do with Convento do Carmo.

Spent a total of around 45 mins there. The ruined part is undergoing some reconstruction so pictures feature equipment and coverings.  The museum part is nice - I retook a lot of pictures of the artefacts, and - in the library room - shot a few pictures to serve as zoom backgrounds.

My new zoom background: the library room from the Museum of Archeology.

King Joao's statue.

After exiting the Archeology museum, Olga and Tanya went to check the museum of National Guard - which was a favorite of ours in 2017, but it was no longer free (although the cost was a mere 2 euro), so they decided to leave it for another day.  We then navigated behind the museum of Archeology/Convento to the landing of the St. Justa elevator, and used its landing as a place to take some nice pictures of Lisbon.

View of St. George's Castle.

Baixa and the Castle.

From there, we took the stairs to down to the street level below (following a part of a Lisbon street tour from last year), walked through some streets of Baxia to try to find Bifanas do Alfonso only to find out that Alfonso is gone on vacation until August 23, turned around, went back towards our place, bought some kebab along the way and returned home around 5pm.

I spent some time prepping for the meetings, then went 6 pm - midnight with a short gap on zoom, after which called it a night.

Steps.  Watch had around 8000 steps, phone has me at 8,858.  Unfortunately, I did not have enough time to get to 10,000.

Alcohol.  None. Work and all that.

Next.  Friday also involves work, but some Lisbon walking in the morning afternoon.
